Tragic bus accident in Oaxaca leaves 18 dead

A bus accident in Oaxaca, carrying supporters of Morena, has left 18 dead and 29 injured. Authorities are providing support to the victims and families.


A bus carrying supporters of the Regeneración Nacional (Morena) movement overturned on the highway in Oaxaca, Mexico, leaving 11 people dead and 30 injured. The accident occurred after passengers returned from a political rally in Mexico City that they attended the previous day.

Oaxaca Governor Salomón Jara Cruz expressed his sorrow over what happened and assured that all necessary support would be given to the victims' families. Authorities are already on-site providing assistance to the injured and conducting the necessary investigations to determine the causes of the incident.

Two people were transferred in critical condition to local hospitals, while another 10 are in stable condition. Organizations such as the State System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family (DIF) Oaxaca are also present to assist the victims' families.

Senator Antonino Morales, founder of the support group that was traveling on the crashed bus, expressed his solidarity with the affected individuals and their families during this difficult time. Meanwhile, the Secretary of Government confirmed that 29 injured individuals are being treated by emergency services.

The number of fatalities has risen to 18, reported Governor Jara, who emphasized the close work of the government with the affected families. Authorities have urged the population to exercise caution on the roads while the investigation into the tragic accident is ongoing.
